Photo Voter ID Overruled by Activist Court

Democrats required a Photo ID at their national convention in Philadelphia this week.
Democrats required a Photo ID at their national convention in Philadelphia this week.

A liberal, activist court sided with Hillary Clinton, Roy Cooper and George Soros by striking down North Carolina’s common sense voter ID law. They didn’t even look at the evidence before making a decision! This is a disgrace to all law-abiding North Carolinians.

The law required that one show an approved Photo Voter ID and was approved by the North Carolina General Assembly to stop illegal voting activities.

Even the Democratic National Committee required photo Voter ID at their convention this week in Philadelphia. (see photo, left)

The topic is now trending on Twitter and other social media.  Liberals, of course, are crowing about this, while conservatives are unhappy with what was  a very fair law.

Governor Pat McCrory (R-NC) had this to say:

“Photo IDs are required to purchase Sudafed, cash a check, board an airplane or enter a federal court room. Yet, three Democratic judges are undermining the integrity of our elections while also maligning our state. We will immediately appeal and also review other potential options.”

Dallas Woodhouse, NCGOP executive director added:

“Today, Roy Cooper and North Carolina Democrats were successful in overruling the will of the people who vastly support North Carolina’s protections against voter fraud.”

“The voter ID law has already been put into place and was successful in its implementation this year, despite the false predictions from the left. Preserving integrity at the ballot box is just plain common sense, but

Roy Cooper and his liberal allies used endless lawsuits to throw our citizens under the bus.The people of North Carolina deserve a system that ensures every voter is who they say they are as they rightfully cast their vote.”

Thankfully, conservative organizations are vowing to fight on!

We can prevent decisions like this in the future by refusing to elect Hillary.  The President handles federal judicial appointments like the one on the 4th Circuit.  We have seen eight years of Obama’s liberal cronies do his bidding at federal agencies such as the FCC, the Dept. of Educations, and more.  We simply cannot afford to continue this.

We must keep Gov. McCrory in office  as it’s clear that Attorney General Roy Cooper will not ever fight for NC law and order.  Cooper is running for Governor against McCrory.

Update:  The three judges that ruled against Photo Voter Id were all Democrats.  Two were appointed by President Obama and one was appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

Coming soon – BeagleCasts

beaglecast-logoWatch out for a new feature on the North Carolina Beagle Conservative Watchdog.

We are currently setting up BeagleCasts to discuss subjects of interest to our readers. That’s right, BeagleCasts, a specialty type of podcast that may even include our current mascot, Buffy Beagle.

They won’t be produced on a regular schedule, at least at first.  They will come out when the mood strikes and we feel strongly about an issue, a candidate, or politics in general.

We hope to have guests on to tell us their stories.

We run a couple of online radio stations, and most people that know me from politics, assume that they are about politics.  They are not and it’s expensive to start a new one, so we figured a podcast (i.e. BeagleCast) would be the way to go.

We especially appreciate the encouragement of Joe McLaughlin.

NC Voter Deadlines – Don’t Be Left Out

Get up to speed with these important dates
Get up to speed with these important dates

Dates, Dates, Dates…

North Carolina’s primary election is March 15. The deadline to register to vote in the primary is February 19.

IMPORTANT: If you need to change your address or party affiliation, you also need to complete and turn in a registration form by this date.

This is important as out-of precinct-voting is not an option if you’ve lived in your current address 30 days or more as of, March 15.

Further, you must vote in the primary for the party in which you are registered by Feb 19 (unless you are unaffiliated and then you get to choose which party’s ballot to vote.)

Absentee voting by mail starts January 25. Early voting starts March 3 and ends March 12.

Don’t be someone who has to vote provisional because you let the deadline slip by!

H/T Martha Jenkins.

Roy Cooper Endorses Hillary Clinton?

Unknown-2Unknown-3North Carolina Democrats generally RUN from their national counterparts, but not Roy Cooper.  The Democrat candidate for Governor appears in a video endorsing liberal Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton represents the same failed policies of the past and would love nothing more than to bring North Carolina backwards, something she has in common with 30 year Raleigh insider Roy Cooper,” said NCGOP Chairman Hasan Harnett.
“Will Roy Cooper and former Charlotte mayor turned D.C. Democrat Anthony Foxx‘s lead and throw their support behind Hillary Clinton? Together, these Democrats would take North Carolina back to the days of higher taxes and stagnant economic growth.”
Cooper is vying for the Democrat nomination for Governor.  If he wins, he faces likely Republican nominee, Governor Pat McCrory.

Action Alert: Contact Your Member of Congress – Defund Planned Parenthood

NCValuesLogoforEmails.124708The NC Values Coalition has issued an action alert.  They want to keep your federal tax dollars out of the hands of Planned Parenthood.

Here is what they had to say in an e-mail sent to their mailing list:

URGENT: Email Your Representative!

The new year is off to a bang with an immediate opportunity to take action on pro-life legislation.

TAKE ACTION NOW: Email your House Rep today and ask them to vote YES on the reconciliation bill that defunds Planned Parenthood.

Both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives recently passed reconciliation legislation that stops taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and re-directs their funding to entities that provide real health care for women, as well as repealing major sections of Obamacare.

ScreenShot2015-12-02at3.13.56PM.151423The House now has an opportunity to vote to send this pro-life and anti-ObamaCare bill to the president’s desk.

The North Carolina Values Coalition worked to keep North Carolina tax dollars from going to Planned Parenthood here in our state.  But, without stripping Planned Parenthood of federal tax dollars, your taxes are still helping to support the nation’s largest abortion provider.

While some Republicans didn’t think the bill went far enough, it was supported by national pro-life groups and key conservative groups. It does serious damage to ObamaCare and would remove funds for Planned Parenthood—which obtains over $400 million per year in Medicaid alone.

We must not allow the perfect to get in the way of the good. Forward progress in defunding Planned Parenthood and forward progress on dismantling Obamacare is far superior to no progress at all.
Your Representatives must hear from you for this action to pass. Please take the time TONIGHT to email them to vote YES on the reconcilliation bill that defunds Planned Parenthood.

NC GOP Chairman Stepping Down

NCGOP Chairman Claude Pope Photo: Katy Benningfield
NCGOP Chairman Claude Pope Photo: Katy Benningfield

Claude Pope, chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party since 2013, has decided not to run again for that office.  His term will end in June of this year.

As party chairman, Pope oversaw a GOP sweep in 2014. The North Carolina House and Senate remained in Republican hands and he played a large role in helping retire former U.S. Senator Kay Hagan.

Pope has been an inspiration to me. When I first met him, he was a young man raising a family. He left party service to “be there” for his family, as well as his growing business.

I got to know Pope best as Wake County GOP Chairman. Despite some factional internal politics, he made certain that every board member got a chance to have their say.

Later, I told him that I needed to play a lesser role in county and state politics after the birth of my son. He strongly encouraged me to do just that, despite the pull I felt and the saddness I felt towards a long break from party activities.

It was the best decision I ever made and I appreciate his experience and  guidance.

In an e-mail to party activists and the media, he explained that he wants to return to his home on Bald Head Island, play more golf, and continue running his small business there.

Todd Poole, executive director for the NCGOP said:

“I want to thank Chairman Pope for his outstanding service to the North Carolina Republican Party. Under his leadership, the Republican Party has secured key victories, including electing Thom Tillis to the U.S. Senate, sending an additional member to the U.S. House of Representatives and maintaining our super majorities in both the N.C. House and Senate. He will also be leaving the Republican Party in a strong financial position to have another successful election cycle in 2016.”

According to the Raleigh News and Observer, within hours of the Pope announcement, a candidate had announced his intentions to run for State Party Chairman.

Craig Collins currently serves as the party’s 10th Congressional District chairman. His announcement cites endorsements from a host of GOP leaders: Gov. Pat McCrory, House Speaker Tim Moore, Senate leader Phil Berger and Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis.”

More on other candidates as the race for chairman shakes out.
