Trump Debate Debacle – University A Sham

FoxNewsDebate-300x169Thursday night’s Republican Presidential debate devolved into a a rowdy atmosphere, according to those in Detroit’s Fox Theater.

The audience cheered and booed during the question and answer session which seemed to grow out-of-control as the candidates began interrupting one another.   It was one step short of a free-for-all.

The hall was so beautiful that it was too grand for the low-life debate.

Normally, Republican candidates are good about sticking to the issues, with a few cleverly contrived jabs tossed in.

Thursday’s debate was no-holds-barred.

The camera panned to moderators Bret Baier and Megan Kelly catching them with looks of confusion at one another.

The name calling was beyond low.  Mothers usually teach their children always not to  resort to name calling.  When name-calling begins,  you have reduced yourself to the other person’s level.   In this case, Marco Rubio fell prey to Donald Trump‘s school yard bully type insults.  Rubio looked frustrated but managed a few  clever comebacks.

For example, Trump repeatedly called Rubio “this little guy”, and “little Marco”.

Rubio replied “Donald Trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks.  If there is anyone who has ever deserved to be attacked that way, it’s Donald Trump.

Trump called Ted Cruz “lyin’ Ted” and constantly said “You are a liar”.  At one point, Cruz shot back “breathe”.  Another was “Donald, learn not to interrupt.  Count to ten  ”

At one point, it seemed that Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio verbally tag-teamed Trump.  Planned or not, this tactic was long overdue. Many feel they should team up, decide who will head either  a Rubio/Cruz or Cruz/Rubio ticket, and together, take down Donald Trump.

A large part of the debate involved the “Trump University” lawsuits.

At the former Trump University, students were offered access to Trump’s hand-picked real estate experts.  In exchange for roughly $1,500 students attended classes that were actually “taught” by a non-experts from a contact company.    Students were not mentored by real estate experts as promised by Trump.

During the classes, little was taught yet the instructors constantly implied that a visit from Donald Trump himself was imminent.  Additionally, students received high pressure sales pitches for more expensive course packages.

Trump never picked any instructors and a third-party company created the curricula and materials.  This company, which shall go unnamed, normally developes materials for motivational speakers and time-share rental companies.  That’s a far cry from real estate experts.

Trump University has changed its name and is still operating, but now faces three lawsuits.

During and after the debate,  conservative and liberal discussion groups on Facebook, generally agreed that a Trump nomination would lead to certain defeat at the hands of Hillary Clinton.

This week, Senate Democrats blocked a vote to override President Obama’s veto of legislation disapproving of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, which would enforce crippling regulations on local communities and small businesses across the nation.

Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) remarked:

“The Obama Administration’s WOTUS rule is the latest federal government land grab that will expand the scope of federal authority over land and water at the expense of farmers, ranchers, landowners and business owners across the country. Under this rule, virtually every nook and cranny of the country will be subject to EPA control, and

I am disappointed with this Administration’s never-ending attempts to add layer upon layer of bureaucratic red tape for hard-working Americans to deal with.”

Senator Tillis spoke on the Senator floor about the WOTUS rule in November:

Roy Cooper Endorses Hillary Clinton?

Unknown-2Unknown-3North Carolina Democrats generally RUN from their national counterparts, but not Roy Cooper.  The Democrat candidate for Governor appears in a video endorsing liberal Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton represents the same failed policies of the past and would love nothing more than to bring North Carolina backwards, something she has in common with 30 year Raleigh insider Roy Cooper,” said NCGOP Chairman Hasan Harnett.
“Will Roy Cooper and former Charlotte mayor turned D.C. Democrat Anthony Foxx‘s lead and throw their support behind Hillary Clinton? Together, these Democrats would take North Carolina back to the days of higher taxes and stagnant economic growth.”
Cooper is vying for the Democrat nomination for Governor.  If he wins, he faces likely Republican nominee, Governor Pat McCrory.

Group Front for Cooper, Treat Governor Unfairly say NC Republicans – Updated

North Carolina Republican Party
North Carolina Republican Party

According to the North Carolina Republican Party:

Progress NC is a mere front for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Roy Cooper.  Cooper is expected to run against Governor Pat McCrory next year.

Read on:

Following news that liberal hatchet man Gerrick Brenner and his extreme front group Progress NC Action will file a political complaint against Governor McCrory, North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Claude E. Pope Jr. released the following statement:

“This snide group is nothing but a front for the left wing extremists in North Carolina, like Roy Cooper, to launch unfounded and baseless attacks against Republicans. It’s sad that these extremists spend more time focused on media manufactured political problems instead of working with Governor McCrory to continue his successful record of improving North Carolina’s economy and decreases in unemployment.”

Shady tactics?  Sounds like a nasty way to draw fire away from a very damaged North Carolina Democratic Party.

UPDATE: Governor McCrory’s office has weighed in thusly:

“Do you ever notice how fringe groups like Progress NC get favorable treatment from the Main Stream Media – free of charge? Groups from the far left like Progress NC – led by a former television reporter – can make bogus complaints and the media will carry it no matter what. This has gone on for years. No more!”
